Our 3-Step Water Damage Restoration Marketing System

Over the years I have developed a 3-step water damage restoration marketing system that has generated millions in revenue for our clients.

The 3-step water damage restoration marketing system includes:

water damage restoration marketing

1. Attract

2. Capture

3. Engage

Step 1 - Attract

The first step in any water damage restoration marketing system is to attract the attention of people looking for the services that you offer at the moment they need them. Most restoration companies offer water damage restoration, mold removal, fire damage restoration, and various other damage restoration services.

Offering restoration services is one thing - letting people know that they can trust you to help them restore their home or business is another. If someone feels that they can trust your restoration company, then you’re most likely going to get the job.

Ways to attract restoration clients:

  • Professional company website/landing page with trust signals, reviews and an easy way for them to contact you.
  • Paid advertising using Google Ads, Bing Ads, YouTube Ads, and Facebook/Instagram Ads that drive traffic to your website quickly.
  • Creating a Google Maps or Google My Business location is critical to attracting local clients in your service area.
  • Asking for reviews from happy clients that you have done work for is one of the best ways to attract new clients.
  • SEO, or search engine optimization, is the process of getting rankings in Google search.
  • Ongoing posting in social media channels creates local brand awareness.
  • Building a referral partner network is another great way to have more poles in the water in your local market.

If you use the above seven ways to attract restoration clients, I promise you that you’ll be doing better than 90% of other restoration companies.

Step 2 - Capture

The second step in your water damage restoration marketing system is to capture leads. If you don’t have a system in place to capture or track leads, then there’s no point in trying to attract new clients.

For each of our restoration clients we always set up the following systems to track the return on investment for marketing dollars:

  • Professional website
  • Tracking phone number
  • Contact norm lead tracking
  • Past client reviews from Google and Facebook
  • Website chat
  • Social media links
  • Google Analytics tracking
  • Facebook Ad pixel
  • SSL certificate on your website

Having the systems listed above ready to go is the key to a successful internet marketing strategy.

Step 3 - Engage

The third step in our water damage restoration marketing system is engaging with each and every potential customer that contacts your business.

You’d be surprised how many times we send leads to clients, and the call is missed or the phone is not answered professionally. Answering the phone quickly and professionally while speaking clearly is critical for first impressions.

We highly recommend setting up automated text message follow-up messages after every call. Sending a text message five minutes after the call ends just to thank the lead for calling and asking them if there is anything else you can help them with is a game changer. We find that 40% of prospects who receive these text messages respond back.

Another important game changer that we do for our clients is something called “automated form submission to call.” Basically, the idea here is that whenever someone submits a contact form on your website, the form automatically calls your main office number saying, “New Form Lead from Jane Smith who needs help with a flooded basement in city name. Press 1 to connect to Jane now.” Within 30 seconds you’re speaking with the person who submitted the form.

How You Can Master Water Damage Restoration Marketing

Finally, you have to have a sales dashboard for all internet marketing leads. The sales dashboard that we have built for our clients gives them the ability to keep track of all calls, price shoppers and people who need to be followed up with. The goal of the sales dashboard is to track calls by name, job type and value. You’ll never look at phone numbers the same once you start looking at them through our system.
